Welcome to the weekly #OO Top 10 show were we recap the top tracks of the week as decided by the voters of the #OO chat. You can take part by going to http://ryno.cc/chat and voting for your favorite Creative Commons tracks.
Big thanks to seamen number 2 Amsterdammack for helping put together the shownotes for this weeks show. And congratulations on his new position on the #OO ship.
We have tabulated and correlated all the votes and I now present you this weeks best tracks. Enjoy!
10. WeAreCastor – Colossi
WeAreCastor is an amazing band that crosses genres and leaves you amazed with a powerful sound and a musical journey leaving you wondering where you are headed next. I highly recommend picking up the entire album it is an all time favorite of mine.
9. Brad Sucks – Look and Feel Years Younger
Bra Sucks is a long time favorite and one of the first creative commons musicians I fell in love with. So in a way Brad is partly responsible for the #OO through his great music and his desire to make his music accessible and easy to share and remix. Brad I for one say you don’t suck.
8. Garmisch –They Seem to Be Intelligent
Another Great track from Garmisch as they make the top 10 twice in 2 weeks with different tracks. This release is one of my favorites from blocsonic.com, if you have not grabbed the free download what are you waiting on?
7. Doctor Popular – Overblown
Off his destroy all Presets album which he describes as
“Experimental and catchy. Melodies with a touch of geekiness. One of my best albums yet. 10 tracks created on a GameBoy Advance, using the Nanoloop cart, plus one nerdy track created an iPhone with the Nanoloop app.”
6. WeAreCastor – Revolvers
WeAreCastor again. See what I mean about how different each track can be?
5. fitzzgerald – Catherine
A song named for a Captain’s wife I wonder what she is going to do with all these seamen running around.
4. Louis Lingg And the Bombs – Conspiracy
If you missed it Friday Josh and Arno from Louis Lingg and the Bombs stopped by the #OO.
3. The Doubleclicks – Internet Troll
The Doubleclicks describe themselves on their bandcamp as:
“The Doubleclicks are a pair of Portland-based sisters who sing about Dungeons and Dragons, Mr. Darcy, andDinosaurs.
The Doubleclicks’ clever brand of nerdy folk music has been called “relentlessly likable” and “face-meltingly wry.”
Their fans tend to be software developers, writers and their loved ones, as well as anyone who loves Star Trek, grammar, dinosaurs or video games.”
I can see why they fit in on the #OO.
2. Show Me Island – Really Wanna Know
A ska band, from Utah, that is bringing sexy back with a beautiful voice fronting and smooth horn lines bringing it home.
1. Hot Fiction – I Just Want your Body
A hard hitting twosome from the UK. I think we are expecting a new album from them this year.
I Hope you enjoyed the show.
Remember The content of this show is released on a cc-by license. The tracks contained within retain their original license, see the show notes for more information. To listen live come by Sunday nights at 9 p m on the #OO-stream (as of late I have started recording around 2 pm). You can find it at https://rynothebearded.com/chat/. There are almost always people there ready to talk music or anything else you may enjoy. most of all remember to support the artists and musicians who make the show possible by releasing their music under a creative commons license. With out that, this show would not be possible.
