The daily posts

Ryno and me thought it would be a good idea to start with daily posts over here. We did one week until I fell off the internet into to real world… The good thing is, we found out that the daily post where making a difference! (Yes we “google-analytic” spy on you!) We had quite a few people passing by, who are not regular visitors of the website. With a lot of ideas and plans of things coming up in the future, I hope we can really provide some more value than other pages given that there is already  a great community over here.

Spreading the word and more important the great music that is released under creative commons licenses is the biggest goal of us. Enabling the artists to be more creative, connect for tours and concerts as well as helping them finding the fans to support them is another. The daily posts are one part of of the new things that have or will be added in the future, as we are slowly trying to establish the stream as the go to place if you want to listen to great ccmusic and ccmusic live-shows. The place where you can discuss with musicians and fans, labels and venues, promoters or collaborators.

Since a while Doug from the Music Manumit podcast was arranging many interviews and continues to do so. I believe those interviews are not only giving an interesting touch to the shows, but also help get a closer connection to the artists. I personally hope that this brings artist and fans closer together. More important, I believe that having some kind of personal relationship or privileged knowledge will help raising downloads and donations for those artists.

The daily posts are the opposite of the interview concept. They are supposed to give you more of an insight where and sometimes how to hunt down great music. They should give directions to newcomers as well as to veterans of the stream.  The purpose is not to increase the amount of views (although it is always nice to see new faces), but give some guidance in the world of creative commons music. These daily posts will never be as long like this great post of SndChaser or as detailed as this post from Ryno, but something in between…

So if you are interested to share, please let us know about your favorite album, favorite artists, music platforms or any other creative commons music related things like events, talks or conferences.

I would be happy to get some comments and a steady flow of recommendations. See how to contact me below or meet me in the #OO-chat

  1. So, I’ve put a lot of time into understanding how to run a site, build an audience, etc. I know I’ve mentioned (more than once, and mostly meant as a bit of teasing) that I’ve managed to improve things quite a bit on my site during this year. If you and Ryno would like, we can get together and I can let you in on some of the secrets I’ve discovered.

    1. I hope you will share your secrets so we can direct more people towards the awesome artists out there!
